X-citing 3 days of games!

Games X-Plosion was a blast!

Youth programmes are always fun as we deal with a lot of children. Our most recent youth camp ‘Games X-Plosion’ gave us the opportunity to mingle and play with over 40 children ages 7 - 17. The whole concept of the camp was to teach kids what is sportsmanship and having fun while learning new games. While we were the ones teaching the kids the right techniques of the games, they also taught us something in return - they remind us again how much fun it is to just play the game.

Sometimes as adults, we get caught up in the seriousness of working life we forget that we need to relax sometimes and just have fun. Over the past few days of the camp, we just simply ‘played’ with the kids. We also wanted the kids to learn about teamwork, determination and discipline. Sports activities and games are the perfect platforms to teach kids these values. If they are having fun doing something, it is easier to teach them something new.

We divided the children into four groups - Wolfgang, 77, Team Elite and Blizzard. Together they went through a series of games and telematches. Kids are just naturally playful and competitive! They just couldn’t wait to get started on the telematches. They were also so eager to learn new techniques so that they can improve their skills in the games. Some of the games they enjoyed include tennis, basketball, football, badminton, rounders and ping pong.

We wanted them to continue on the momentum and enthusiasm they had throughout the day. So at night we played a giant board game. We also allowed the kids to let their natural creativity flow through group presentations.

Throughout the sports camp, the kids never failed to astonish us how creativity and fun can be found in the simplest of games and activities. These photos here are just a small testimony of how much fun we had with them. We can’t wait for the next Games X-Plosion!
