About-Our Approach
A: EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING METHODOLOGY
Our programmes are structured around the concept of “EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING” and “METAPHORIC EXPERIENCES”, which follows the rationale that doing something does not necessarily result in any particular learning unless we:
OBSERVE the result of the action (both the planned and the unplanned)
REFLECT and DISCUSS on what worked well and what could have been different
GENERALISE and APPLY, ie implement the learning from the observation and reflection by aspiring to perform better in real-life experiences, and applied to the participants’ broader existence, at work and even life in general.
B: PROFESSIONALLY-FACILITATED DEBRIEFING
It has been recognised that if learning objectives for an activity or game are properly facilitated through structured discussion and purposeful debriefing, they are more likely to be achieved and the learning anchored. The debriefing of these experiences allows participants to evaluate their goals, reset new goals, hence allowing a more complete transference of knowledge to their daily work or life situations towards continuous improvement.
C: METAPHORIC EXPERIENCES
Metaphoric experiences are innovative experiential learning programs that use immersive, real-life experiential activities as learning experiences that highlight learning objectives. Metaphors can be powerful instruments for facilitating learning because they allow individuals to identify with personally relevant images that reinforce learning concepts. In particular, the metaphoric experiences can illuminate issues around challenging assumptions, risk taking, reflection, game playing, creativity and "unlearning". The use of metaphor as a tool for learning is not new. This is largely because metaphors aid, and help produce, new understandings.

E: COMMITMENT FROM D’JUNGLE PEOPLE
PRE AND POST TRAINING SESSIONS
The pre-training session is designed to clarify both individual and team expectations and serves to develop the participants' commitment to, and ownership of, the program. Post-training sessions are structured to re-focus the team on the program’s aims and objectives, to reinforce learning outcomes, and to assess the implementation of ideas, processes and action plans. These sessions are important components in optimising the overall outcomes of the program and providing an opportunity to identify any ongoing training needs. A Post-Training Summary Report will be handed over to the organisation 2 weeks after the training programme. The Report includes the general findings of the participants with regards to the objectives of the programme as well as suggestions and recommendations to the clients (if any).
FOLLOW-UP
Follow-up is essential in all training situations. Long term success of the training will depend on the ongoing involvement of the participants, supervisors and in-house managers.
To ensure the motivation level of the participants after the programme is maintained:
01 MONITORING CALLS will be made to the key or relevant individuals as reminders of the action plan made and committed to during the Training programme;
02 CONTINUOUS FEEDBACK from participants will be done via e-mails and telephone calls;
03 SITE VISITS to the Office for encouragement and support;
3-R (REVIEW, REFLECT, REENERGISE) EXERCISE
An OPTIONAL but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED initiative, the “3-R HALF-DAY EXERCISE” is an excellent tool to implement an effective follow-up to the Primary Programme. Several initiatives in the Exercise would include:
Getting feedback from participants on the status of the team and its progress;
Assessing the results and team performance since implementing the Action Plans;
Reinforcing key points and learning from the Primary Programme;
Making on-the-spot improvements and adjustments to existing Action Plans; and
Determining what retraining is needed.
